Those who peek into Rijeka's computer museum and poke through their past will be overtaken by the speed through which the technological future has become the past. Under the name PEEK&POKE, this is the first Croatian computers and informatics equipment museum. Its founders call it the Retro Computer Club. Opened in 2007, it welcomes its visitors with exhibits that date back to the 1960s. Amongst the oldest, is a pioneer of computer technology, the Minival computer (1961); as well as this, there is the first large series personal computer (Apple II), the first price-convenient home computer (Sinclair ZX80), the first palm computer (Newton), the computer on which the artist Andy Warhol created (Amiga 1000) and the great-grandfather of all modern personal computers (the original IBM PC). The museum is proof that Croatia was once a leader in one sector of this technology, so the first European calculator, produced in 1971 in Buje, in Digitron factory is exhibited here.
